gevolution versions

This is an overview of the many open-access variants of gevolution that have been developed for studying different cosmological models.

General relativity (and \(w_0w_a\)CDM)

The public CPU documentation on this site describes the established v1.2 release. The GPU documentation describes gevolution 2.0, an alpha/developer-preview CUDA port whose user interface is largely inherited from the v1.3 development line.

Alternative models

More information about each is given below.

AsGRD fork

These are evolving the nonlinear and relativistic Klein-Gordon equation of a scalar field that is coupled to matter and undergoes a phase transition, with particular interest to late-time Universe transitions, but also applicable to the early Universe.

AsGRD

AsGRD (Asymmetron with General Relativity Dynamics) evolves the (a)symmetron, which is a relativistic real-valued scalar field that is non-minimally coupled to the matter sector and undergoes a phase transition during structure formation. AsGRD extends asevolution with the ability to evolve tensor perturbations, and is better maintained among the two.

norns

NOn-linear and Relativistic Numerical Strings. An extension of the above that promotes the scalar to be complex-valued, and is therefore forming cosmic strings after the phase transition.

EFT-evolution fork

These are models that includes derivative couplings in the dark sector physics. The below codes are treating the theories in a fluid approximation with nonlinear corrections generated by the effective field theory of dark energy.

k-evolution

Named after the generalised kinetic term function \(K(X)\) of \(K\)-essence models. Here \(X\equiv \partial_\mu \phi \partial^\mu \phi\) and \(\phi\) is the scalaron.

KGB-evolution

Named after the kinetic gravity braiding model which is an extension of the K-essence models. In addition to the \(K(X)\) term, derivative couplings appear in the term \(G(\phi,X)\Box\phi\).
